Reports from Geisei Observatory<April 21, 1999>


• A fax message from Mr. Hirohisa Sato reports that a 9th-magnitude comet was discovered in Australia. The following is an orbit calculated by Mr. Kenji Muraoka based on 43 observations made during April 16-18, 1999. According to him, this comet will become visible in June as a 7th or 8th magnitude object in mid-May in Japan. However, it may be very close to the evening sun.
