Observations made with the 60cm reflector and not previously reported (1)
The following are the observations made with Geisei's 60cm
reflector. (This telescope is now decommissioned.) These have not been
reported previously. I have found the images of these objects while recently
checking the old films. Most of them seem to be known minor planets.
SL586 is identified as 110P/Hartley 3 and SL587 as 24P/Schaumasse
by Mr. Hirohisa Sato. SL584 and SL585 are identified to be numbered minor
planets (6735)Fursenko and (1996)Adams respectively. SL is the prefix used
for the objects discovered by Geisei Observatory. There are also 1000 objects
discovered by Geisei with the prefix SK. Some of these minor planets looked
like comets and some were later found to be binary minor planets. There
was only one peculiar asteroid. It is still possible that new objects are
discovered in the old images.
Mr. Sato continues his work to identify the found objects
and the results will be presented here in the future.
