Reports from Geisei Observatory <January 13, 2007>

C/2006 M4 (SWAN)

These are the follow-up observations of C/2006 M4 (SWAN). Around the end of last year the comet was observed to have become smaller but looked solid with a well-defined nucleus. However, this year it has become fuzzy with its coma disintegrating. I decided that it would be impossible to track this comet any longer partly because it was low in the evening western sky. It looks literally disintegrating and disappearing into the evening sunlight.
