Reports from Geisei Observatory <August 5, 2006>


177P/Barnard 2 and P/2006 HR30 (Siding Spring)

    The weather seems to be more stable today bringing along typical summer skies. No storm clouds are seen as the air has become drier. The national high school baseball championships, an annual summer event, will begin soon and the August 15 commemoration of the end of World War II is drawing near. Around this time of year, the singing of cicadas is heard and you will begin to sense quietly approaching autumn. As Geisei is in the countryside, autumn arrives here earlier than in Kochi City.

    The following are my recent observations. I would like to draw your attention to the observatory code given below:
