    Photograph 1: Photographed by double exposure
The comet is brightly glowing at 12th magnitude with a faint tail visible to the south (downward in the photograph.)

• Supernova 2004et in NGC 6946
    The magnitude of the supernova is 12.5 estimated from comparison stars in the GSC at 22:19 J.S.T. October 6, 2004. (Photograph 2)
The position determined by the 60cm reflector is:
 R.A. = 20h35m25s.42
 Decl = +60o07'16".9 (2000.0)
