• LINEAR(2001 A2)has become fainter.
LINEAR has become much fainter. The total brightness will be magnitude 6.5-7.0 and one magnitude fainter than M13 in Hercules. Mr. Hirohisa Sato in Sukagawa visually estimated its magnitude to be 6.9 in 10x7cm binoculars on the morning of July 26. The photograph was taken by the 60cm telescope at Geisei Observatory with a 12-minute exposure. The tail has become fainter too. The breakaway nucleus apparently disappeared very quickly.
