Reports from Geisei Observatory <June 1, 2001>

• Observation data: C/2001 K3(Skiff)
2001 UT R.A (2000) Decl. m1
May 31.72465 20 58 32.80 -3o 38' 58" 5 17.5 372
    31.73924 20 58 32.59 -3 38 42. 2 372
The comet seems to be slightly deviating from the original orbit. It is 4' off it now.
Is it a type of asteroid or in a typical ellipse? It looks much fainter than it actually is at magnitude 16, because of poor summer-time transparency.

• C/2001 K5(LINEAR) was missed this month because of moonlight and its low altitude.
• C/1999 T1(McNaught-Hartley) has become very faint.
