An open cluster containing NGC 6453 This is an image of an open cluster containing NGC 6453, which is located near the tail of Scorpius. It appears as a bright blob of light to the naked eye with many 6th- to 7th-magnitude stars clustered together. Its beauty through a low-power comet-seeker is beyond description. I remember Comet Halley moving west passing slightly south of this cluster in April 1986. 12cm f/3 reflector with a 10-minute exposure on ISO 800 film |
