お名前： 佐藤 裕久国立天文台・天文ニュース (558) 池谷さん、村上さん、宇都宮さんエドガー・ウィルソン賞を受賞 静岡県の池谷薫（いけやかおる）さん、新潟県の村上茂樹（むらかみしげき） さん、熊本県の宇都宮章吾（うつのみやしょうご）さんが、2002年のエドガー ・ウィルソン賞 ( THE EDGAR WILSON AWARD ) を受賞することが決定しました。 池谷さんは「池谷・張彗星 (C/2002 C1)」の発見 (天文ニュース 521 他) で 中国の張 (Daqing Zhang) さんと一緒に、村上さんは「村上・シュナイダー彗 星 (C/2002 C1)」の発見 (天文ニュース 533)でアメリカのシュナイダー (Douglas Snyder) さんと一緒に、そして宇都宮さんは「宇都宮彗星 (C/2002 F1)」 の発見 (天文ニュース 536) で受賞しました。 同賞はアマチュアの彗星発見者に贈られる賞で、昨年、宇都宮さんが日本人 として初めて受賞しています（天文ニュース455）。 エドガー・ウィルソン賞は1998年に制定され、新彗星を発見したアマチュア だけに贈られる賞です。毎年7月に受賞者が発表され、1999年、2000年、2001年 に10組の個人またはグループが受賞しています。今年が4回目の発表となります。 なお、他にアメリカとカナダの人が2人受賞しています。 参照 IAUC 7926(June 24, 2002).
