Comet C/2000 WM1 (LINEAR)の発見事情 12月16日、LINEARチームにより報告された小惑星状天体がNEO Confirmation Pageに公表された。 11月16日と18日に LINEARよるもう1つの観測と結合され、MPS 22800で2000 WM1となった。 T.B.Spahrは、12月20.148日UT 、Mt. HopkinsのSAO 1.2-m反射鏡で2000 WM1 の観測を行った。 10"のコマと広くP.A.45°におよそ10″〜20″の微かな尾がある。 B.G.Marsdenによって放物線軌道要素が計算された。位置推算表によれば、来年末、肉眼星に達するか も知れない。 11月16日と12月16日の最初のLINEAR観測は次のとおり、 2000 UT R.A.
