Lincoln研究所のR. HuberとF. Shelleyは、2月1日のLINEARの観測から彗星を発見した。
P.A.12.5°に42"-47"の尾がある。
2月1.8日のModra(0.6-m f/5.5反射 + CCD)での観測では、m1 = 16.3、不釣合いなコマと、
P.A.約30°に向かって15" 伸びている。2.7日、少し拡散した約10"のコマがある。
また、2月2.7日、Kelt天文台（0.57-m f/5.2反射 + CCD)の観測では、10"のコマがある。
2月2.8日、Duesseldorf(Essen.、ドイツ、0.32-m f/5.7反射 + CCD)では、コマが見え、
m1 = 16.6。
