LINEARが2月7日に発見した小惑星状天体(MPS 50314に2002 CW134とつけられた)が、 その後、NEO Confirmation Pageに掲載され彗星であることがわかった。 3月19.0日UT、Kelt天文台-KLENOTの1.06-m KLENOT反射鏡 + CCDの観測では、 拡散状で13″のコマがある。 3月23.0日、G. MasiとF. Mallia(Campo Catino、イタリア、0.8-m反射 + CCD)の 観測では、拡散状、P.A.330°に約30″伸びた微かなコマがある。 発見位置は次のとおり、 2002 UT R.A.
