3月10日に得られたPalomar Mountain/NEAT画像から彗星が発見された。NEO Confirmation Pageに公表され、K. Lawrence(1.2-m Schmidt + CCD)は、7″の核集光と、西に向かって 約8″の尾があると通報した。 3月12.4日UT、彗星であることは、Table Mountain天文台(0.6-m 反射 + CCD)のJ.
