Reports from Geisei Observatory<May 7, 1999>


• Comet Lee C/1999 H1 moving up north
In spite of rather poor weather, the comet was captured 10 degrees over the southwest horizon in the evening on May 6. Through the 20cm refractor at 60x, m1 was 8.2v and the diameter was 4'. It was very diffuse and the degree of concentration was 3/5.

The comet will continue its northward motion toward the evening sun. It will brighten a little more.
