Reports from Geisei Observatory <April 11, 2009>

C/2009 F6 (Yi-SWAN) and C/2009 G1 (STEREO)

Both comets have been discovered recently and are discussed by Mr. Hirohisa Sato on the notice board of our HP. They are faintly visible and even in photographs taken by the 70cm telescope they are faint because of the very bright moonlight near full moon. They will not brighten much. The magnitude of the nucleus of each comet is given below. The visual magnitudes will be at least 2 magnitudes brighter.
