Reports from Geisei Observatory <March 10, 2005>


• P/2004 V5-A (LINEAR-Hill) and P/2004 V5-B (LINEAR-Hill)
   P/2004 V5 broke up into two fragments (Components A and B), both of which are brightly shining near perihelion. However, a rainbow-like bridge between them seen at the time of discovery is not visible any longer. Component A seems to be closer to the calculated orbit in the Comet Handbook than Component B.
    C/2005 E1 (Tubbiolo) was discovered, but at 20th magnitude it is difficult to observe in the sky affected badly by a dust storm from China. I haven't even tried, though....
