• P/2004 V5 (LINEAR-Hill) Observation results of P/2004 V5, a comet with two nuclei. The image of the nucleus B is poor. It is also diffused and the accuracy of the measurements is a slightly inferior to that of the nucleus A. The nucleus A is 17.5 magnitude and the nucleus B is fainter at 17.9 magnitude. The two nuclei are about 2' apart and spanned by a white rainbow. The following are the observations by the 60cm telescope at Geisei: P/2004 V5-A 2004UT R.A (2000.0) Dec. A straight jet is observed running to the north. It has probably become visible today or quite recently. The tail extends to the north far beyond the 1.5-degree field of the photograph. I saw the comet with the naked eye very clearly today. It was slightly brighter than 5th magnitude. A color photograph of this comet will be presented later. |
