Reports from Geisei Observatory <October 26, 2001>

• Photo of C/2000 WM1(LINEAR)
C/2000 WM1 has brightened in the northern sky. The 20cm refractor at 60x showed its cometary appearance. It had a total magnitude of 11.4 on the morning of October 25 and was 2' in diameter. This is a photo taken by the 60cm telescope.

As you can see in the predictions in the OAA Comet Section Reports, favorable observing conditions will continue until mid-December, when the comet moves southward. The comet should be visible around that time in 7x50 binoculars. I will try a color photo of this comet in November.
