Reports from Geisei Observatory <August 30, 2001> No.2


• A probable supernova detected in a 1997 photograph.
A 17th-magnitude probable supernova was found in a nebulosity of NGC 772, 30" north of the center. This object is not present on the film exposed by the 60cm telescope on August 28 this year and November 28 last year. The position is
 1h59m19s.00  +19o00'58".6 (2000) and two photographs captured it.

The photograph below was taken by the 60cm telescope on September 4.652 UT. Other observatories may have captured this object on film.Exposed on 6415 film without filter for 12 minutes.
