Reports from Geisei Observatory <January 30, 2001>

• C/2001 A1(LINEAR), Kanatsu Object
These are the photographs of C/2001 A1 and the Kanatsu object in Puppis. Compare these with the previous photos of the same objects taken by the 60cm telescope.

It seems that observatories around the world have now started to calculate the orbital period of C/2001 A1. This comet is difficult to photograph because of the faintness of the nucleus.

In Reports from Geisei Observatory dated January 28, 2001, there were errors in the value of declination, which was pointed out by Mr. Hirohisa Sato and Dr. Marsden at IAU. -21o53'52".5 should read -21o52'52".5. I am grateful to both of them for drawing my attention to the errors.
