December 2003

On this Christmas eve the streets are lively, but in contrast, it is quiet here on the rooftop of my house on Kamimachi. Ryoma Memroial Museum, which has been under construction since this spring, now seems to be complete, as no sounds of construction are heard. It is a large, spacious two-level timber construction. This location is where the movement started to end the shogunate for the restoration of the Imperial rule.

Mr. Yoshihiro Yamada of Kobe stopped by and we enjoyed discussing astronomy at the nearby coffee shop Yashi. Later, friends got together at the garden of my residence and took a photograph for our reunion.
